JM Robert begins very young painting by imitating the effects of patina, dirt and degradation which he observes on the facades of buildings. After having followed studies in the arts of arts in graphics and decor where he notably learned the professional techniques of trompe l'oeil, he does his pictorial experiences by successively inspired by pop art, street art.

Gradually he developed his own style which he knows how to have sufficiently led 3 years ago to start exposing his creation.

In an incisive and punchy graphics, he draws stencil of faces on the abstract bottoms which take up the degraded effects, deteriorated from urban walls.

But if the ruins are generally rich in emotions contradictions, complex, JM Robert wants his painting speaking a contemporary language as he is expressed on the walls of our cities. It was then inevitable that he was interested in the creations of graffiti artists whose pictorial language is very live. In their creation, the objective is to leave a brand which in an instant, must catch the gaze of passers -by. With the stencil technique, this trace becomes that of an ephemeral presence. And by his painting, JM Robert seeks to grasp this presence, strong and brief, impactful with a look, of an anonymous female face which also testifies to our time.

Likewise with his palette of very flashy colors which contrasts violently with the black of the graphics by which he seizes in flight this very particular expression of female faces as he sketches them on the collages and his canvases.

After some participations in collective exhibitions, he started in this spring 2012 a new stage: he returned to the gallery in Paris and prepares his own exhibition, also in Paris, in November at the Batignolles Art'S-35 Galerie rue la Condamine Paris 17th. Then the institutional circuit opened its doors to him in spring 2013.
